Kurasu began as an online store in 2014, founded by Yozo Otsuki to introduce Japanese coffee equipment to the world. After gaining international recognition, Otsuki returned to his hometown of Kyoto to open the first Kurasu cafe in 2016, adding coffee roasting to the business.
