A Charming Riverside Haven for Coffee Lovers
Nestled in the scenic landscape of Cape Town, this rustic coffee haven captures the hearts of locals and tourists alike. The moment you approach, the enticing aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans beckons you inside, where the warm smiles of the friendly baristas and staff create an immediately welcoming atmosphere.
The shop exudes authentic charm with its rustic décor and historical ambiance, some visitors even noting Game of Thrones-inspired elements that add unique character to the space. An oasis of greenery surrounds the café, creating a peaceful setting where guests can enjoy their beverages while overlooking the riverside (though the river itself may be seasonally dry).
Their coffee selection is exceptional and diverse, widely regarded as some of the best in Cape Town, if not all of South Africa. The flat whites receive particular praise, and for tea lovers, the rooibos cappuccino offers a delightful local alternative. Watch as your beverage is crafted with care right before your eyes, highlighting the baristas' dedication to quality and craftsmanship.
Complementing the outstanding drinks is an array of delectable treats. The almond croissants are a customer favorite, while the orange almond cake, gluten-free chocolate slice, and vegan brownie demonstrate their commitment to inclusive options. Their flapjack, loaded with granola, fruit, and nuts, strikes the perfect balance of sweetness.
Owner Paul Myburgh enhances the experience with his interesting stories and great sense of humor, embodying the passion that shines through every aspect of the business. Coffee beans are also available for purchase, allowing customers to recreate a bit of the magic at home.
The café offers complete accessibility with wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance, plus convenient free street and lot parking. Both takeaway and dine-in options are available, though note they open at 9am daily.

The aroma of the coffee beans draw you in, and the friendly smiles of the baristas and staff keep you there. It's packed with charm, and has a rustic and authentic feel to it. My personal favourite is a flat white along with an almond croissant! ☕🥐 Definitely one of the best (might actually be the best) coffee places in Cape Town.
