We purchased a birthday cake for my son’s birthday ( lotus cake) was absolutely delicious, I don’t remember when it was last time we had such a testing cake. The sponge was moist and soft, the cream absolutely fantastic. I will definitely come back

Good hot chocolate & tasty pistachio almond biscuit. Staff were friendly and quick to clean tables when people left. Other cakes and bits looked really nice and it seemed to be a popular little place for a tea/coffee and something sweet.

It seems my original review mysteriously vanished! Anyway, let’s start with the positives: the cakes are delicious, the baklava is delicious, the coffee’s decent, and the seating has thankfully remained the same since the change in management, which is a good thing. Now for the not-so-good. They’ve scrapped the best almond croissant I’ve ever had in my life, which was a terrible decision, and the chocolates that used to sit proudly in the counter cabinet. I mean, it’s literally in the name. Why is this French patisserie suddenly so obsessed with baklava? The bagel bread is a bit crumbly and stale, and the lady serving didn’t even ask if I wanted my cheese croissant toasted. I had to ask after it was served, and of course it ended up being toasted for about five seconds, with the cheese still solid. Every time I visit, my order gets messed up. They use cheap, awful Alpro milks, coconut and almond, which completely ruin the coffee - which used to be the best coffee in Kingston! Honestly, I’m gutted that this place changed management. They’ve done away with so many things that made it special. Even the old staff were far better. To the previous manager, please tell me where I can buy more of your heavenly almond and honey croissants. I miss them dearly!
