I have been coming to Truth Coffee for many years (even before the Best Coffee in the World title), and I have to commend them for consistency. Consistency in coffee, food and most importantly, service. I had the bacon and 3 cheese sandwich which was just delicious! It was this perfect mix of savory, salty and a tad sweet. Coffee was perfectly balanced and no, you really don’t need to add sugar. My friend and I were very happy all around. I only wish the lighting was 20% brighter. I get the whole steam punk thing, but it’s a bit too dark for us 40+ spectacle wearers ;)

The vibe is young, eclectic and that reflects the crowd. It’s definitely worth the trip if you are in Capetown. Walk up or walk in with security (it is South Africa)—this takes a moment of adjustment as a tourist from the US. Bolt (like UBER in the US is inexpensive) makes city travel fast and easy. Now to the best part, pastries and coffee are as good and mostly better than anything in the US and certainly better than Starbucks.
