Eddie is truly one of the nicest baristas I’ve ever met. Every time I visit, he greets everyone with a warm smile and a genuinely positive attitude that immediately lifts the atmosphere. He’s not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, remembering regular customers’ orders and small details that make you feel special. His coffee skills are fantastic, but what really stands out is his kindness and the care he puts into every interaction. Eddie turns a simple coffee run into a bright moment of the day — he’s a real gem!

Lovely place to go for a delicious coffee. Nice that they don’t charge extra for alternative milks. The coffee shop could do with an extra barista on a Saturday morning. It was quite a long wait to get served. But, the wait was worth the delicious coffee. Plenty of places to sit. Not the most comfortable chairs, but fine for a quick coffee.

Urban Baristas – Aldgate Review First Impressions & Service (4/5) Walking into Urban Baristas, you can’t help but feel hopeful—especially with the café’s Aussie roots, which naturally raises the bar when it comes to flat white expectations. The barista was friendly and chatty (and Australian, no less), which is always a great sign. It felt like things were off to a promising start. Coffee Quality (3/5) Here’s where things took a slight dip. • Flat whites, whether you lean Team Australia or Team New Zealand, should be velvety smooth, well-balanced, and rich—an espresso-forward drink with silky milk, sitting perfectly between a cappuccino and a latte. • Unfortunately, this cup was overly robust, edging into harsh territory, with a sour finish that lingered a bit too long. • The milk foam needed more attention, lacking that smooth, integrated texture that elevates a good flat white into a great one. Value for Money (4/5) At £3.80 with my own cup, the price is not outrageous for London—especially considering the vibe and service—but the execution didn’t quite match the promise. Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Urban Baristas has the right heritage and a great team, but this flat white didn’t hit the mark. With a little more care on the extraction and milk texture, it could have been a standout. As it stands, it was fine—nothing to write home about, but not bad either. Would I return? Perhaps, but I’d probably give them another try in a few months. After all, everyone has off days— I’ll be back.
