Great spot for a matcha and hojicha near Holborn. I’ve tried a variety of combinations of their drinks and particularly recommend the raspberry hojicha, sea salt matcha and of course their classic matcha latte (don’t forget the extra shot of matcha if you’re wanting the strong matcha flavour). Highly recommended if you’re in the area! Small area to sit but great atmosphere and design. Personable and helpful staff

Matcha Latte (L, with Oat Milk) £3.9 Couldn’t believe I could taste amazing matcha latte in Europe💚 Good enough to wake me up in the morning :) One of memorable places to visit again in London. Definitely recommendable!

If minimalism is your love language, SONTAG in Holborn speaks it fluently. No website, no clutter, no WiFi (seriously), just pure caffeinated focus. I went for the iced oat latte which is was smooth, chocolatey, with proper flavour depth and paired it with a soft, matcha and chunky white chocolate chip cookie. Match made in minimalist heaven. The matcha itself? Next level. I tried the matcha strawberry latte and I’m still thinking about it. Like the nesquik strawberry milk you had as a kid suddenly grew up and found inner peace. No syrups, no sludge. Just great technique and balance. Space-wise, it’s sparse. A few stools, two small tables, and no laptop squatters in sight. You’re here for the coffee, not to write your novel. Croissant was a miss (a bit limp and sad), but honestly, the drinks more than made up for it. Verdict: come for the matcha, stay for the calm. Or at least until your mobile signal gives up.
