and had a mixed experience. The food was exceptional — I loved the poached eggs on avocado toast, with the eggs cooked to perfection and a beautifully jammy texture. The French toast was also a standout, incredibly fluffy and sweet. The coffee was equally lovely, complementing the meal perfectly. However, the service left much to be desired. Our table of six had a major issue with timing; one of our orders arrived a full 15 minutes after the rest of us had been served. This meant my poor grandma had to watch us all eat and finish while she sat there waiting. By the time her meal arrived, she was eating alone. Additionally, my grandad’s tea was forgotten and didn’t arrive until after he had finished his meal. It’s clear that the staff needs some work on communication and coordination. I’d suggest they improve their order-taking process, perhaps by repeating orders to customers to ensure accuracy and satisfaction. While the food and coffee were delightful, the lack of attention to service made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been. With some improvements in customer service, this could easily become one of my go-to spots.

🎬 “Burgers, Beverages and a Backdrop Like a Vintage Cinema” Visited Stage House on 23/08/2025. The decor strikes you immediately: a stylish hybrid between a vintage cinema foyer and a retro lounge, creating an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. The open kitchen adds theatre to the dining room, while the extensive seating gives the place a social, easygoing energy. Food and Drink • Beefy Burger (£13.90 + £2 for extra patty) Marketed as Wagyu patties, though the cut of beef was not specified. The patty had some natural juiciness but lacked depth of seasoning, leaving the flavour profile one-dimensional. Parmesan cheese was supposed to feature, but I had to request it, which dulled the initial impression. Once corrected, the combination of Parmesan, sharp mustard sauce and sweetly charred onions lifted the burger, though not to the indulgent heights its name suggested. The extra patty was necessary to give it body and balance. • Extra Parmesan on Fries (+£1.50) Not disclosed until the bill, which detracted from the experience. Nevertheless, the addition brought a savoury richness and textural layer that elevated the fries beyond the ordinary. • Stage Fighter (£5.90) A refreshing blend of apple, orange, ginger and celery. The sweetness of the fruit was elegantly cut by the warming spice of ginger, while celery added a subtle earthy note. Balanced and revitalising. 💁♀️Service: The service team was youthful and attentive, with my hostess being particularly warm and responsive. She handled minor lapses with efficiency, leaving a positive impression. 🚾🧻Toilets: The design here leans more towards a modern club aesthetic, with dark tones and mood lighting. However, it was disappointing to find no paper hand towels in the men’s toilets. Despite returning several times during my visit, the supply was never replenished, which felt like a preventable oversight. Atmosphere and Accessibility: Stage House succeeds as a lively hangout spot, its ambiance resembling that of a boutique Picture House cinema in Palmers Green. • 🚌 Public Transport: Buses 121, 141, 232, 329 and W6 all stop nearby • 🚋 Nearest Overground: Palmers Green Station (Great Northern line) • 🚘 🅿️ Parking: Free after 6:30 PM Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday. Pay and display operates at other times. Verdict: Stage House has undeniable charm and a distinctive aesthetic. The food, while promising in concept, lacked refinement in execution. With greater attention to consistency and flavour development, it could reach a much higher standard. Worth revisiting for variety, though not a place to hurry back to.
